In Dripping Springs, Texas, data recovery — and more importantly, data migration — became essential after an older MacBook Pro suddenly failed. The screen went completely dark, leaving the laptop unusable even though the internal components were still functioning. Inside the machine was 102 GB of valuable personal data, including documents, photos, videos, and work files stored on a 512 GB SSD.
The customer first visited the Apple Genius Bar in hopes of a repair, but was told the MacBook was too old and the screen could not be replaced. With no way to access the system, transferring files to a new MacBook Pro without losing data became the only solution.
The case was entrusted to WeRecoverData, the leading provider of data recovery and migration services for Apple systems.
At the WeRecoverData lab, engineers confirmed that while the laptop’s screen was beyond repair, the SSD was fully intact. Using certified tools, they safely extracted the SSD, accessed the Mac’s file system, and created a complete clone of the drive. The clone was then prepared for seamless migration to the customer’s new MacBook Pro, preserving folder structures, user settings, and file integrity.
The process was a complete success. All 102 GB of data — from personal memories to important work files — was recovered and transferred safely, allowing the customer to continue using their data on the new machine without disruption.
Thanks to WeRecoverData, what could have been the end of a trusted old MacBook turned into a smooth transition, with every file exactly where it belonged.
