WeRecoverData

Skydio Drone Data Recovery

Recovery of Skydio inspection, public-safety and earlier consumer footage from the media and log microSD cards, with encrypted internal storage and YubiKey-paired SD configurations assessed separately.

Recovery brief

Recovery brief

Where data may reside
Separate microSD cards for media and for logs; encrypted internal storage; encrypted SD cards paired with a physical YubiKey on documented configurations.
What customers typically need
Inspection and public-safety media from the media card, flight logs from the log card, and footage from earlier consumer and enterprise aircraft.
The Skydio constraint
Encryption can limit what is recoverable. The paired system, YubiKey and authorized access materials must be preserved.

Media path

Where the data can live

Skydio documentation separates media, logs and encrypted storage. Each is reviewed on its own.

  1. Media microSD

Media card, identified from the quick-reference guides

  2. Log microSD

Separate log card, where flight logs are requested

  3. Encrypted internal storage

Assessed separately from the unencrypted SD cards

  4. YubiKey-paired SD

Encrypted SD cards used with a physical YubiKey

Before you send

What to submit

Preserve the paired system, YubiKey and any authorized access materials. Encryption can limit what is recoverable.

  • Both microSD cards — media and log — if present
  • The aircraft, powered off, even if it no longer powers
  • The paired system and YubiKey, where used
  • Any authorized access materials for encrypted storage
  • The model name and which files you need

Directory

Supported systems

Listed models are supported for evaluation of available recording media and associated devices. Recovery depends on data location, media condition, encryption, and whether the requested data remains present.

Enterprise and public-safety aircraft

3

Sensor packages, radios, docks and controllers are configuration details rather than additional aircraft models.

SystemFamily / groupSource / statusNotes
Skydio X10 (Gen 1)Also: Skydio X10Enterprise and public-safety aircraftDocumentedMedia and logs cards are distinct from encrypted internal storage. Establish the exact storage and configuration before evaluation.
Skydio X10 (Gen 2)Also: Skydio X10 Gen 2Enterprise and public-safety aircraftDocumentedSeparate documented hardware generation. Media/log SD cards and encrypted internal storage require different recovery assessments.
Skydio R10Enterprise and public-safety aircraftDocumentedEncrypted internal storage is documented; evaluate local recordings and authorized exported or cloud-synced copies separately.

Earlier enterprise and consumer aircraft

4

Historical models remain relevant to recovery. Software licenses and starter/cinema/sports kits are not counted as additional airframes.

Skydio X2EAlso: Skydio X2 EnterpriseEarlier enterprise and consumer aircraftLegacyOfficial quick-reference guide identifies separate microSD cards for media and logs; obtain the media card and configuration details.
Skydio 2Also: Skydio 2 EnterpriseEarlier enterprise and consumer aircraftLegacyPrimary footage is recorded to microSD. Phone-created clips and separately recorded phone audio can be additional targets.
Skydio 2+Also: Skydio 2+ EnterpriseEarlier enterprise and consumer aircraftLegacyPrimary footage is recorded to microSD. Identify original recordings separately from phone clips and audio.
Skydio R1Earlier enterprise and consumer aircraftLegacyManufacturer documents 64 GB internal video storage and USB-C offload. Phone audio may be separate from video.

Newly documented aircraft requiring availability verification

1

Keep outside an unqualified supported-model claim until a received customer's exact production system and storage can be assessed. Current official specifications exist while some official solution copy still says coming soon.

Defense variants

2

Manufacturer documentation describes encrypted storage for these configurations. No decryption is offered; authorized credentials and paired devices must be preserved.

Skydio X2DAlso: Skydio X2D ATO, Skydio X2D OfflineDefense variantsDocumentedSome documented configurations use encrypted SD cards with a physical YubiKey. Preserve the paired system and authorized access materials.

Process

How the case is handled

  1. 01

Identify where the requested data was recorded.

  2. 02

Inspect the media or device that holds it.

  3. 03

    Report what data is recoverable.

  4. 04

Recovery proceeds only with your approval.

Questions

Which Skydio card holds my footage?
Skydio documentation separates a media microSD card from a log microSD card. We confirm which card holds the requested files before any recovery work.
Can encrypted Skydio storage be recovered?
Encrypted internal storage and YubiKey-paired SD cards are assessed with the paired system and authorized access materials. No decryption is offered, and encryption can limit what is recoverable.
What if the aircraft will not power after a crash?
The cards may still be readable when the aircraft does not power. Keep it powered off and send the aircraft with both cards.
Pricing: diagnostic fee $195, credited toward your recovery price. Typical drone recovery runs $500–$1,500, confirmed after evaluation. See drone pricing

Catalog checked against manufacturer documentation. Documented aircraft and hardware generations for supported-model evaluation lists. These are model-identification and storage-reference records, not evidence that WeRecoverData has tested every model. Embedded flash capability does not bypass encryption; recoverability depends on damage, overwrite, firmware and available authorized credentials. Enterprise kits are aliases where they do not establish a separate aircraft.

Excluded or unverified: Dock for X10 and MegaDock are docks, not drone models.; VT300 sensor variants and Connect radio variants are configurations.; RQ-28A designation was not independently sourced to a primary document in this pass; do not add an unsourced alias.; No claim of exhaustive prototype, customer-specific defense or unpublished hardware coverage..
