Yuneec Drone Data Recovery
Recovery of Yuneec H520, Typhoon, Tornado, Mantis and Breeze footage from the original camera or payload media, assessed separately from controller copies and flight logs.

models listed for evaluation
Recovery brief
Recovery brief
- Where data may reside
- Camera and payload media on H-series, Typhoon and Tornado; ST16S controller data on Typhoon H; internal memory plus SD expansion on Mantis and Breeze; customer-fitted GoPro cameras on Typhoon Q500 GoPro.
- What customers typically need
- Production footage from Tornado, commercial captures from H520, H520E and H520E-RTK, and Mantis or Breeze footage with any saved phone copies.
- The Yuneec constraint
- Controller copies can be lower quality than the camera original, so the original camera recording is the first target.
Media path
Where the data can live
Where a Yuneec recording can sit. Each source applies only where the catalog documents it for that model.
Camera / payload media
H-series, Typhoon and Tornado original recordings
Internal memory + SD
Mantis and Breeze, checked separately
ST16S controller
Typhoon H controller data, separate from the camera card
Fitted GoPro
Customer-fitted GoPro on Typhoon Q500 GoPro aircraft
Before you send
What to submit
- The camera card or payload media
- The installed camera, especially after an impact
- The ST16S controller if it may hold a copy
- The Mantis or Breeze aircraft, for internal memory
- The model name and a short note of what happened

Supported systems
Listed models are supported for evaluation of available recording media and associated devices. Recovery depends on data location, media condition, encryption, and whether the requested data remains present.
16 models in 5 groups
Commercial H-series aircraft
4
Identify the camera/payload installed on the aircraft. H520, H520E and H520E-RTK are distinguished in the manufacturer's comparison.
All systems in this group: Assess original camera/payload media separately from controller copies and flight logs. Confirm the actual camera and storage configuration before recovery work.
Typhoon H camera aircraft
3
RealSense equipment is a configuration difference. Preserve original camera recordings rather than relying only on lower-resolution controller copies.
Typhoon Q500 and GoPro aircraft
4
Names and plus/4K/G variants are explicitly identified in the manufacturer's parts catalog.
Mantis and Breeze aircraft
3
Embedded and removable recording storage must be checked separately; do not assume all models use the same arrangement.
Tornado professional camera platforms
2
Camera configurations vary; the installed camera's media is usually the key item to identify for production footage.
All systems in this group: Assess original camera/payload media separately from controller copies and flight logs. Confirm the actual camera and storage configuration before recovery work.
Process
How the case is handled
- 01
Identify where the requested data was recorded.
- 02
Inspect the media or device that holds it.
- 03
Report what data is recoverable.
- 04
Recovery proceeds only with your approval.
Questions
- Is the controller copy as good as the original?
- Often not. Controller copies can be lower quality, so we look for the original camera recording first and treat the ST16S copy as a separate source.
- Where do Mantis and Breeze store footage?
- They document internal memory plus SD expansion. Both are checked separately, along with any phone copies.
- What about Typhoon Q500 GoPro aircraft?
- The customer-fitted GoPro camera holds the recording, so send the camera and its card.
Catalog checked against manufacturer documentation. Documented production camera drones, professional platforms and legacy model generations. Marketed payload/battery bundles are aliases, not extra airframes. Listing supports technical evaluation and does not claim successful recovery on every model. Public archives do not establish an exhaustive list of prototypes or regional package SKUs.
Excluded or unverified: HD Racer and Firebird FPV were announced at CES 2018; production delivery and customer recording media were not verified, so omit from an unqualified supported-production-model list. Manufacturer-issued announcement: https://www.presseportal.de/pm/126637/3835038; H520 RTK without E, H600, H800 and H900 were not established as separate production models in official product/support sources checked.; CGO cameras, E-series cameras, ST controllers, RealSense modules and accessory kits are not additional drone models.; H Pro terminology is supported by a manufacturer-authored maintenance guide archived on a third-party host, while the official release describes Typhoon H with Intel RealSense..
